Rings are in corsage position in the hollow under mom’s shoulder. Shoulder folds are pulled out, and
sling is cupping mom’s shoulder.
A narrow band of fabric puts all of the weight on mom’s neck. Low rings create a smaller pouch for baby.
Notice that moving the shoulder to the neck causes the top rail to be too loose,
and baby is leaning back too far away from mom. |
Baby’s legs are bent and spread like a frog around mom. Baby’s bottom is lower than knees, so baby cannot
slip out. Fabric is spread evenly from neck to knees.
Baby’s legs are hanging straight down. Baby could slip out the bottom of the sling. Only friction is
holding baby in the sling.
Fabric is spread wide on back and shoulder. The wider the fabric, the more comfortable the sling is for mom.
Fabric is narrow and twisted on back. Narrow fabric digs into mom’s back and creates tension points.
Baby is high on mom’s body. Wearing baby at or above her waist is comfortable for mom’s back.
Baby is too low. Wearing baby this low causes back fatigue for mom.
Baby is pulled in close to mom. A snug top rail is more comfortable for mom’s back.
Top rail is loose and baby is leaning back. Baby and mom do not feel secure. A leaning baby hurts mom’s
back.
